I released an awesome print to celebrate the end of this weird (understatement much) year and it is up for grabs!
Melting Moon
Ready for a little Christmas story?

Once upon a time …

It’s been at least 6 years since I had the idea to start painting this moon. The concept was quite clear from the start, and I had the perfect leftover wood laying around. However, I’m not much of painter.  I have tried it multiple times in the past, I detested it in school and couldn’t really handle the learning curve.
For some reason, the first part of this painting went really smooth. I’d painted 3 out of 4 quadrants (the lighter parts) when it all stranded. I was stuck. It didn’t really bother me at the time, given my history with painting I was on the right track. Little did I know it was going to be an uphill battle from that point on.
Finishing the dark side of the moon, scared me… so I ignored the thing for a couple of years. I think I moved this half baked painting 4 times. Going from one studio to the next one.

… then along came Gust …

When Gust from De Makers Bureau asked me to collaborate on their makers of the month, I had a couple of ideas. Finishing up this piece was the most scary thing on the list. You can guess which one he preferred right? Yep, he loved it. All of a sudden, I had only a couple of weeks to finish what I had been putting off for years. With fresh courage and a clear deadline, I started on the remaining 25% of the painting. How hard could it really be? Turns out, the home stretch was still quite a challenge. You can imagine my happiness (and relief) when I reached the point where I (finally) felt the painting was finished. Thanks Gust for pushing me & defeating my monkey mind (for a brief moment in time at least).
For maker of the month, we made this limited edition (50) print, printed it on beautiful Hahnemule paper and assembled it with love. Because of the unconventional ratio, we offer it in a complete package, so no searching online for a matching frame. We’ve got your back!Curious to see how it turned out?  Check out the link below to see the final product.*
*If you would prefer print only, you can get it without frame or visit Gust’s workshop for a custom solution.

… and they all lived happily ever after.
Stay safe & enjoy this last stretch of 2020 ?
